Fresh on the scene in Nashville is the newly minted rock band South of Specter. They are founded on the creative collaboration between vocalist/bassist Zach Swift and guitarist/vocalist Nathan Hood. The pair met in the spring of 2010 in one of the nameless songwriter nights in Nashville, TN. Both were fresh faces to the city, and like most worthwhile happenings, it took time for both to realize their combined potential.

In 2012, they finally put their heads together on a new project. Drawing from their varied influences in Pop, Alternative Rock and Folk, they spent the fall writing, playing and recording together. What transpired was a fusion of thoughtful, timely lyricism and pop hooks in a rock band’s exoskeleton. Since releasing their self-titled EP, feedback has confirmed what one writer commented, “This is the requiem for our teenage years, this is the soundtrack to First World Problems, this is what it feels like to always be the sidekick and never the hero.” South of Specter is already a voice to be heard.

Gor Narang (drums) and Daniela Garica (electric guitar) joined SOS this summer and are bringing the band to new levels of creativity. South of Specter is playing shows locally and regionally to promote their self-titled EP. They plan to begin a new project toward the end of 2013.
